- I was born and raised in Broomfield.
- My husband and I have raised our family here, living in the same house for almost 25 years.
- We have owned and operated our own successful business in Broomfield for 20 years.
- My family has owned and leased commercial buildings here for almost 65 years, since before Broomfield was a city.
- I am called to joyously serve my neighbors in my beloved hometown. It's who I want to be.
- Regardless of whether or not I'm re-elected, that's who I am, and that's what I'm going to do.

Problem Solver, x2: This huge turtle (about forty pounds, a foot across) was in the drainage behind our house one summer morning in 2011 after a violent thunderstorm. My daughter and I realized that the turtle could never make it up to the safety of Ellie's Pond without help, so we carefully put her in our bike trailer, rode up to the pond, and let her go. In the fall of 2015, when the pond was due to be dredged, I remembered her and made a point of telling city staff and contractors to watch for her so she wouldn't get injured in the dredging operation. Sure enough, they found her dug into the bank for the winter, carefully moved her to a safe spot, and did their work. As far as I know, she's still happily living in Ellie's Pond today!
