Meet Liz
I’ve lived basically my entire life in Broomfield. My folks moved here in the late ‘50s. This is my hometown, and I love Broomfield and the people here.
We’ve got 2 terrific kids and a fantastic daughter-in-law, who all live here. I’m so proud of them!
Last fall we became grandparents for the first time, to a sweet little girl. One of the biggest joys of my life is that we get to watch her twice a week.
My dad took this photo of me at Broomfield Days in 1973
Since I last ran for council, my husband and I retired from owning our own small commercial real estate company. Both my parents have passed away as that generation of Broomfield “pioneers” leaves us. Since I last ran for council I had bariatric surgery, losing — and keeping off — about a hundred pounds. I was “diagnosed” with ADHD, which explains a lot about me! Since I last ran for council, my “public service” has expanded as I now sit on the Board of Directors of North Metro Fire Rescue District.
I never expected to run for council again. Seeing the results of the Broomfield Community Survey was a shock. I heard a message from a pastor whom I respect who said, “If you don’t step up and serve, who will?”
I ask you: May I serve my beloved Broomfield once again?
