I’ve lived in Broomfield all my life, and I love our community. I’m running for council to work to get us “Back to Basics” such as responsible spending and citizen-based priorities.

Recently a group from outside Broomfield tried to divide and distract us from the issues we face which need to be addressed. They attacked the character of some of our elected officials and candidates instead of focusing on conversations about our policy differences.

Whoever they are, they don’t know Broomfield very well; they don’t know that we are resilient and unified in our condemnation of petty, mean, snide personal attacks.

I want to help move us forward so that our children and grandchildren — my granddaughter is the 4th generation of my family to live in Broomfield — may inherit a Broomfield even better than the one in which I grew up and in which we raised our children. I believe with your support we can do just that. Please join me in getting Broomfield “Back to Basics” for all of us.

JE SUIS CHARLIE.

If you’re not familiar with that phrase, look up “Charlie Hebdo.”

Free speech has been under attack for a long time. Charlie Kirk isn’t the first to be murdered for his words.

This letter to the editor is scheduled to run in the Enterprise on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
